Stramine is a canvas characterized by increased rigidity. Stramine is like a rigid and sparse thread net. It is most often used to create carpets and tapestries. Sometimes, due to its rigid structure, it can be used to make boxes or bags. More often than not, the size of the stramin cross is larger than that of another canvas, so it is embroidered with thicker threads. An embroidery frame or a loom are not needed here, the stramin keeps its shape by itself.
NOTE: a white stripe runs through every 10 cells, which is an additional convenience when calculating stitches.
It is used for cross-stitch, semi-cross stitch, it can be removed after embroidery if it is used as an "auxiliary base".
