Stramine is a canvas characterized by increased rigidity. Stramine is like a rigid and sparse thread net. It is most often used to create carpets and tapestries. Sometimes, due to its rigid structure, it can be used to make boxes or bags. More often than not, the size of the stramin cross is larger than that of another canvas, so it is embroidered with thicker threads. An embroidery frame or a loom are not needed here, the stramin keeps its shape by itself.
 
The canvas is used to create works in the style of carpet technology. Large PVC cages create a solid foundation for work. Due to the natural color, the base is successfully hidden under the working threads.
